What's new in Agent Tile, September 2026

· release notes, agent tile, changelog

This release adds workspaces, usage gauges, and a ship gate to Agent Tile. It also adds controls for organizing tiles, switching models, and working in full-screen view. Everything below was measured; the test and shipped-asset counts are listed at the end.

Workspaces (tabs)

Workspaces split the board into tabs. You can use names such as All, Admin, 1st, and 2nd, or choose your own. Switching tabs hides the tiles in other tabs while their agents keep running in the background. Each tab remembers its own arrangement.

Create a tab with +, then right-click to rename or delete it. To move a tile, drag its header onto the destination tab. Use ⌃0–9 to jump between tabs or ⇧←/⇧→ to cycle through them. The tab controls let you choose which tiles are visible while keeping the rest of the board’s sessions running.

Why we built it
We run 18 tiles on one board: 1 leader and 17 workers. They were competing for one screen. Workspaces give those tiles separate arrangements, with the requirement that hiding a tab must not stop the agents behind it.

Usage gauges

Usage gauges in the header show Claude and Codex limits side by side. They cover the 5-hour window, the weekly window, and a model-specific bar, such as Fable. You can see how much room each agent has before dispatching work.

The header puts these views together: the window limits sit alongside the model-specific limit. When assigning work, you can read the remaining room for the agent you are about to use. The gauges make that information part of the board.

Why we built it
We were dispatching work to agents without seeing how much quota each had left. Putting usage gauges in the header gives us that information at the point where we decide where to send work.

Leader can move tiles (MCP)

The MCP control surface now includes workspace list, create, rename, delete, and set_active_workspace operations, plus move_tile. The open_tile operation also accepts a workspace.

A leader session can use these controls to file tiles into tabs without touching the mouse. It can create a workspace, move a tile into it, and set the active workspace through MCP. Workspace operations follow the same rules as the UI, including when a tile is opened with a workspace specified.

Why we built it
A leader session needed to file tiles into tabs without a mouse. It also needed to use the same rules as the UI so the two never disagree about workspace operations.

Model badge and remaining-quota gauge

Click the model badge to switch models through /model. The remaining-quota gauge goes down as you use the quota and warns at 25%.

The badge provides the model-switching action, while the gauge shows the quota remaining. Its direction follows what is left: continued usage reduces the displayed remainder. The warning marks the stated threshold on that remaining-quota view.

Why we built it
We wanted model switching available from the badge and remaining quota shown as a decreasing gauge with a warning at 25%.

Full-screen view upgrades

Full-screen view adds a copy/paste safety net, screenshot paste, and an automatically focused input. A live “responding” line shows when the session is responding.

The minimap works as a scrollbar, and ⌘↓ takes you to the bottom. The editor panel now includes web tabs and URL session registration. On the board, arcs show inter-session traffic; use ✨ to toggle them. These additions cover input, response visibility, navigation, and the display of traffic between sessions.

Why we built it
We wanted the full-screen workflow to include paste support, input focus, response visibility, and navigation, alongside web-session controls and visible inter-session traffic.

Ship gate

Every release ZIP is downloaded back from storage and byte-checked before it goes on sale. The check covers assets and bundled modules in the downloaded release.

For this release, 16/16 asset files byte-matched, and the shipped ZIP contained 0 third-party assets. Those results describe the package downloaded back from storage. Checking that package is part of the release process before sale.

Why we built it
A release log that says “shipped” does not prove what is inside the ZIP, so we download each release back and byte-check its contents.

19 languages

The new UI strings are available in 19 languages. This language coverage applies to the UI text added in this release.

Why we built it
We wanted the new UI strings to be available across the supported 19 languages.

  • 18 tiles on one board
  • 445 tests green (41 of them workspace-related)
  • 16/16 asset files byte-matched and 0 third-party assets in the shipped ZIP
